Beauty and Affirmations with Wellspring Living
Wellspring Living is an Atlanta based nonprofit helping domestic sex trafficking victims and the vulnerable develop the courage to move forward and the confidence to succeed. We have been happy to partner with them on several projects including an abstract painting project with Ashley Hizer.
Recently, the young ladies in the Wellspring Living for Girls Program explored the topic of beauty in a jewelry workshop led by Paint Love artist, Corrie Ladd.
“The girls from Wellspring were inspiring, introspective, and uplifting. The experience brought perspective to the volunteers, and hope for the rehabilitation of anyone emerging from a traumatic experience. The interactions brought so much joy to my life, and I look forward to working with them in the future!”
After writing down words that they felt expressed the true meaning of beauty, the girls fashioned bracelets and necklaces with glass beads and letter beads that spelled out their chosen words. The girls loved the project so much that several of them made extra bracelets as gifts for their friends, mothers, and sisters. Each of them left with a single rose and a wearable reminder of their own special beauty.
