“Justice for all” - together with Friends of Coffee Moms and Preemptive Love

SATURDAY JUNE 20, 2020 | 12:00 noon-2:00 PM

From the comfort of your own home

Reservation is required. RSVP below.

For the next installation of Paint Love's virtual Artist Challenge series, we are excited to partner together with the Friends of Coffee Moms and Preemptive Love to bring an event called Justice for All.

The virtual event will open with a poetry reading from spoken word artist Ashlee Haze, and two artists will be live painting throughout the afternoon- setting the framework to share how art can be a powerful tool in processing experiences and sharing stories.

A spinoff of the group, "Coffee Moms” - for moms raising children of color,  "Friends of Coffee Moms” is also open to white moms learning to be allies with the mission to create a community of mothers from diverse backgrounds who are empowered to support the equality of children of color.

For over a year now, Friends of Coffee Moms has been meeting monthly with local police officers, gathering and talking in small groups. From this long-standing relationship, they have build a base of trust and dialogue from which they can now enter into a space asking hard questions and having honest conversations about race, police, and parenting in a way that is not possible, or at least not as meaningful, when approached without the history and background of relationship building.

Featuring a conversational panel moderated by Coffee Moms founder, Renee Liverpool, the goal of the event is to show that it takes laying groundwork before we can do the work of community building and understanding.

Reservation is required. RSVP below.
