CURRENT NEED:
We are looking for volunteers to assist our lead artist!
THE PROJECT:
We are SOO excited about this one!! David Broughton of Baron Press will be leading a screen printing project for 250 high school students at Title 1 school, Langston Hughes. Their graphic design students held a design contest around the idea of "community." The winning design (seen here) will be printed across 11" x 14" mixed media paper that the students have created abstract watercolor designs on. The watercolor background will be done on Monday, March 28th and the final screen printing project with David will happen on Wednesday, March 30th.
We would love to have volunteers on both March 28th and March 30th (with a priority on signing up for the big event on the 30th). Both days will run around 8am-4pm, but we welcome volunteers at any point in the day!
Project Timelineon the 30th:
set up: 8-10am
project: 10am-2pm (4 hours)
clean up: 2-4pm
THE ORGANIZATION:
Langston Hughes High School is a Title 1 school with great art teachers but limited art resources.
