How to Prepare for a Program
Programs are an exciting event! You have the opportunity to get to know a community and create meaningful art together. Here is a list of steps to take before the day of your program.
One month before:
-For artists: murals need approval from your site director or city before we start painting. Work with Mandy to gather all of the necessary information to get this project off the ground.
-For volunteers: ensure that all required paperwork is completed. This information includes a background check, mandated reporter training, and our trauma-informed model training. If you have any questions feel free to email us!
-If you have any information on the group you are working with, do some research on the organization and familiarize yourself with the population. Ask us about our history with this organization, and we may be able to give you some insider tips.
One week before:
-This is a great time to ask any questions you may have.
-Double and triple check the call time, program details, and maybe pull up the site’s address to ensure that you arrive on time.
One day before:
-Get excited!!!
-For artists: confirm your supply list.
One hour before:
-Be sure to arrive 15 to 30 minutes early to begin prep, meet the Paint Love staff member on-site, other volunteers, and get any necessary information.
