My Summer With Paint Love

This is a guest post from one of our amazing summer interns, Jane Jacobs! Learn more about her summer with Paint Love in her reflections below!

This summer I had the opportunity to intern with Paint Love and after the first day of a free lunch AND popsicle from Steel City Pops, I knew it was going to be awesome.

I called my mom on the way home from my first day at PL and I told her that if it was ok, and not completely insane or irresponsible, that I would donate every dollar I have to Paint Love.

I remember leaving my first day of work in awe at how inspired I was at Julie's passion for making Paint Love the best that it can be. I am an athlete at a Division 1 SEC school, so I have quite a bit of experience being surrounded by passionate, committed, and hard working people (roughly 60 teammates to be exact) and I would honestly say that if you put myself and teammates in competition with just Julie and Laura, it would be a close call.

Along with gaining so much knowledge on how marketing works within a nonprofit, my favorite part of this job was working with the kids at Our House and New American Pathways. I was able to learn how much I truly love working with young kids, and how much I valued the friendships that I built with them.

If you are interested in volunteering or interning with PL, I promise you it is the most rewarding feeling in the world AND you will have a never ending supply of popsicles (the good kind) at the studio! Thank you Julie & Laura for giving me the chance to intern with PL this summer and learn so much.

P.S. follow us on insta/ twitter/ Facebook & never feel like you can't donate your life saving to PL just because my mom told me I can't :)
