Lantern Parade with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
This is a special guest post by Paint Love Summer Intern & GSU student, Victoria Allen.
What's better on a hot summer day, than to be creating lanterns and singing songs with people that care?
We had the pleasure of working with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, and their Artist in Residence, Caroline Snodgrass, on July 13th to create an indoor lantern parade in the hospital to help lift the spirits of the children they serve. Alongside Children's staff, volunteers and the Paint Love team we helped children cut, glue, color and build individual masterpieces.
During our craft period, Children's had appearances from a magical fairy princess and music therapists that lifted our spirits higher. Children and staff were able to sing songs together while finishing the last few touches on their lanterns.
The day concluded with our Lantern Parade around the hospital where staff cheered on parade participants and enjoyed the beautiful lanterns the children created!!
Paint Love is looking forward to future activities with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and their amazing and creative kids along with the loving and supportive staff team!!
