THE PROJECT:

Cool Girls Club is a weekly after-school program for girls providing academic support, life-skills development, physical fitness and nutrition programs and exposure to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Students are taught by volunteers, staff and school personnel, on topics impacting girls like puberty, self-esteem and conflict resolution. There will be 45 girls, in 2nd-8th grade, served.

They are open to project ideas, but because of their focus, we would like projects to
connect with nature and wilderness AND to fit within one or more of the Paint Love themes. Paint Love’s themes are the following: A) Loving/respecting yourself, B)Loving/respecting others, C) Seeking and strengthening positive relationships, and D) Investing in your community.

THE ORGANIZATION:

Cool Girls Club mission is to empower Atlanta girls by breaking the cycle of poverty, low self-esteem and teen pregnancy. Their core programs are offered at our partnering schools in Atlanta Public Schools and DeKalb County Schools. The majority of our students attend Title 1 public schools and live at/or below the poverty line. Girls enrolled at their partner schools may be eligible to participate in the Cool Girls Club. For more information about enrolling, please visit your school’s main office or contact their office at (404)-420-4362.
